What coating is up against in Mission.

A garaged car gets a break from UV every night. A street parked one does not, and sustained sun is what fades and dulls clear coat over years. A coating carries some of that UV load instead of the paint, which matters far more on a car that lives outside twenty four hours a day than on one that only commutes.

Water spotting is the other constant. Cars parked outdoors through a wet week collect rain, then dry in the sun with whatever was in the water still on the panel. Coated paint sheds most of it before it can dry in place, and what does dry on lifts off rather than etching.

The honest counterweight, same as with correction here: a lot of Mission cars are older daily drivers, and a five year coating on a car worth a few thousand is hard to justify. The one year exists for exactly that situation and it is a real product, not a downgrade.

Is a coating worth it on an older car?

Sometimes, at the right tier. On a fifteen year old daily driver a five year coating is hard to justify, but a one year coating over a decon makes a genuine difference for less, and it can be repeated. I would rather sell you that twice than the wrong thing once.

Can you coat a car parked on the street?

Yes, though the car needs to stay dry for a few hours while the coating cures, so we plan around the forecast. If your only parking is exposed street, tell me when you book and I will pick a day that gives the coating a clean window.
