Ceramic coating in Shawnee
Shawnee gets both extremes in the same week, heavy shade and hard sun, and a coating has to cope with both.

Why here specifically
What coating is up against in Shawnee.
Under the canopy the problem is organic. Sap, bird droppings and wet leaf debris all sit on horizontal panels and all of them are acidic enough to mark clear coat if they are left. A coating does not prevent any of that landing. What it does is keep it sitting on top of a sacrificial layer, so removing it later is a wash rather than a polish.
Out of the shade the problem inverts. Driveways with a full southern exposure cook the paint on the hood and roof, and that is where fading and clear coat failure start on an older car. A coating takes some of that UV instead of the paint. It is not sunblock, but it measurably slows the panels that get the worst of it.
There is also a curing consideration worth flagging here more than elsewhere. A coating needs a dry window after application, and a shaded driveway under trees holds damp far longer after rain than an open one. If your setup is heavily shaded I will plan the timing around that.
Ceramic coating, priced
Every number before you commit.
- $100
Iron decon package
Chemical iron removal and strip wash. Required before any paint correction.
- $40
Ceramic coating, 3 to 6 month
Spray ceramic. Real gloss and easy washing for a season.
- $60
Ceramic coating, 1 year
Higher-solids formula. Better water behavior and depth.
- $300
Ceramic coating, 3 year
Professional-grade coating. Best paired with a correction first.
- $10 per wheel
Ceramic face wheel coating
The face of the wheel, coated in place. Brake dust stops bonding and rinses off for about a year.
- $200
Glass clean and coat
Every pane cleaned, then a hydrophobic coating on the windshield and front doors. Rain beads off at speed.
A sacrificial layer bonded to the clear coat so dirt releases instead of sticking. One year spray through five year professional grade, all priced on the menu. Build it on the correction and ceramic page, or start from the full menu if the car needs the inside doing too.
Will a coating protect against rock chips?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. A ceramic coating is microns thick. It resists chemicals and makes washing easier. Stopping stone impact is paint protection film, which is a different product and one I do not install.
Does heavy shade cause any problem for the coating?
Not once it has cured. It matters during application, because the surface has to be dry and stay dry while it sets. A shaded Shawnee driveway after a wet spell can take a while to get there, so it is a scheduling question rather than a product one.
