Why here specifically

What correction is up against in Leawood.

The tree cover that makes the neighborhoods look the way they do is hard on clear coat. Sap lands, bakes in the sun, and etches a ring into the surface. Bird droppings do the same thing faster because they are acidic. Neither of those is a scratch, so neither responds to the same approach as swirls, and both need to be pulled out chemically before a machine touches the panel.

The other pattern here is color. Leawood driveways hold a lot of black, dark gray and dark blue, and dark paint is honest in a way silver is not. It shows every wash mark under direct sun. That is usually why someone calls, and it is also why two stage comes up more often here than anywhere else I work.

Worth saying plainly: several Leawood neighborhoods have HOA rules about work vehicles and driveway work. I have not had a problem, but if your association is strict it is worth a look before booking, because a mobile detail is a van in your driveway for most of a day.

Leawood questions

Asked and answered.

More on the Leawood page.

Can you get sap etching out?

Usually, if it is caught in a reasonable window. Fresh sap lifts off chemically with no polishing at all. Once it has sat through a few hot days it leaves a depression in the clear coat, and that needs correction. Once it has sat a season it can be through the clear, and then it cannot be polished out.

Is two stage worth it on a black car?

On black, usually yes. A single cutting stage removes the defect but leaves its own light haze, which black shows. The refining stage is what takes it from clean to deep. On silver or white you often cannot see the difference and I will tell you so rather than sell you the second stage.
